 Scope of this Position

  • Position will be responsible for supervising/managing/overseeing the following departments: Sales and Catering
  • In preparing for this position, candidate ideally will have worked in at least the following departments or positions: Sales
  • Requires a minimum of 5 year(s) of supervisory experience.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 year(s) of experience.
  • Approximate full time staff under this position: yes
  • This position reports to: General Manager
  • Must have experience at properties of similar size and quality.
  • Overnight travel for this position: 1%

 Job Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
  • Significant experience in a 300+ room, full-service group and corporate hotel with large meeting space is mandatory.
  • Delphi and Opera experience strongly preferred.
  • Mid-level proficiency in both Excel and Word is required.
Technical Requirements:
  • Develop and implement sales plan for all profit centers.
  • Maintain sales awareness throughout property.
  • Teach, train, counsel, and lead Sales staff in consistently exceeding production goals.
  • Direct selling effort of sales and reservations.
  • Maintain communications with Regional and/or Corp. Staff.
  • Build shoulder season group business.
  • Develop budgets, projections, and implementation plans for each market segment.
Leadership Requirements:
  • Ability to conceptualize the mission.
  • Develop and implement business plan.
Managerial Requirements:
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to sell concepts and ideas to management, peers, and employees.
  • Experience making presentations in front of groups.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with guests, groups, and personnel from other departments.
  • Demonstrate team building experience.
  • Track record promoting an atmosphere of teamwork.
  • Demonstrate ability to lead by example.
  • A mentor who has inspired, trained, and developed people for promotion.
Business Skills:
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of computers.
  • Strong customer service orientation and skills.
  • Strong budgetary, projections, and cost control skills.
  • Assume responsibility/accountability.
Educational Requirements:
  • BA/BS 4-5 year degree or foreign equivalency.
