Who Will this Job Appeal To?
SUMMARY
To mix all catering and group needs with hotel policy and procedures to produce a work order that detail a groups every move here at KSL La Costa Resort and Spa.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. To make sure all of the necessary items are in the group file.
2. Work with client directly to form a Banquet Event Order that when written within the guidelines of the hotel's policy and procedures allows the group to accomplish their goals.
3. Work with sales, reservations, front desk and parking to insure groups arrival and stay is consistent with hotel standards.
4. Solve all group problems to the best of your or the hotel's ability within hotel's policy and procedures.
5. Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
6. Up sell food, beverage and set-up fees to increase hotel revenue whenever possible.
7. Market, sell and write function work orders for local weddings, social events and catering functions.
8. Solicit in the local community one day per week as a promotional tool for group business as well as hotel outlet promotions.
9. Act as a liaison between groups and hotel. Utilize hotel staff through the issuance of work orders to insure the groups’ successful stay.

The Ideal Candidate for this Position
Must have three + years experience as a Catering Sales Manager, and/ or like experience in event planning and a successful track record of increased sales and successful events. Strong referrences are required.
Job Requirements
Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
Technical Requirements:
Must live in the local area or within commuting distance.
Strong background in selling rooms, F&B, Catering, Meeting Rooms, and A/V.
Thorough knowledge of sales techniques.
Enjoy asking for business and closing sales.
Work effectively with Rooms, Recreation, Catering, Conference/Convention Services, and Banquet Departments.
Consistently meet or exceed sales goals.
Applicants must be within a 30 mile radius.
Managerial Requirements:
Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
Maintain a good working relationship with guests, groups, and personnel from other departments.
Business Skills:
Work with limited support.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong customer service orientation and skills.
Exceptional detail in follow-up.
