 The Ideal Candidate for this Position

The ideal candidate will enjoy:

  • Developing sales relationships within the community by attending community activities such as Chamber of Commerce and Convention and Visitors Bureau activities.
  • Managing customer orders through the planning, presentation and collection stages.
  • Assisting the hotel to meet budgeted banquet revenues.
  • Securing and closing sales.

Outgoing personality with a minimum of two years experience in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.

 Scope of this Position

  • Generate top of the line catering revenue for the hotel by maximizing all revenue potential and up-selling additiona events/amenities whenever possible to build additional revenues.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 year(s) of experience.
  • This position reports to: Director of Sales
  • Must have experience at properties of similar size and quality.

 Job Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
Technical Requirements:
  • Maintain or exceed budgeted sales and profits in all catering areas.
  • Develop and implement effective marketing plans for generating catering revenues.
  • Experience evaluating each piece of catering business to ensure business can be properly serviced.
  • Carefully review all contracted services to assure proper contribution to profits.
  • Understand role market fluctuations have on up-selling opportunities.
  • Re-book business before they leave.
  • Optimize room rental charges.
  • Maintain close client relationships with in-house groups.
  • Actively participate in community/civic activities to maintain awareness within community and to create booking opportunities.
  • Excellent creative skills to provide innovative set-ups, menus, and functions for groups.
  • Ability to put together creative and innovative menus based on skills of the kitchen.
Managerial Requirements:
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to sell concepts and ideas to management, peers, and employees.
  • Experience making presentations in front of groups.
  • Ability to clearly and concisely present technical subjects.

Educational Requirements:

 Compensation

SalaryNegotiable based on experience
