BASIC FUNCTION:
The Server is responsible for providing prompt, courteous service to all guests.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Interact with guests to take food and drink orders.
2. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff when food ordering expressing any special needs.
3. Ensure prompt delivery of food to the guest's table.
4. Have working knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine. Suggest pairings of food to wine or beer.
5. Have an extensive knowledge of the restaurant menu and maintain the ability to describe both the ingredients and preparation of each dish.
6. Handle all checks and cash according to Resort policies and procedures.
7. Ensure cleanliness of restaurant including polished flatware, clean glassware and plates.
8. Be familiar with all property amenities and other restaurant menus and hours of operation.
Job Requirements
Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years restaurant experience required.
Experience in high volume establishments.
Good food service knowledge.
Extensive wine knowledge preferred.
Pleasant personality.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience with Micros system preferred.
Technical Requirements:
Must live in the local area or within commuting distance.
