Scope of this Position
The Driskill Hotel, managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts and located in downtown Austin, is a four-star, AAA four-diamond hotel that seeks to provide the finest in service, ambiance, and hospitality.
Built as the showplace of a cattle baron in 1886, The Driskill has long been Austin's Grande Dame and a center for politics and high society.
Today, The Driskill offers deluxe accommodations and five-star dining in true Texas luxury.
It stands apart as a landmark of refined hospitality with a rich appreciation of the past and an elegant vision for the future.
The Driskill strives to maintain a working relationship with community organizations to ensure the growth and welfare of Austin and its citizens.

Responsible for corporate bookings without group rooms
Will assist with Conference Services groups as assigned, including all servicing, detailing and up selling.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Meets and exceeds catering booking pace goals.
Meets and exceeds conference services food & beverage incentive goals
Responsible for direct sales efforts in the corporate market, including prospecting
Answer incoming corporate inquiries via phone, internet/website
Utilize reader boards as a selling tool
Quote room rental and food and beverage to potential clients
Responsible for creating all catering contracts and catering/conference services BEO’s for assigned groups. This also includes maintaining and reporting all changes to events by utilizing the change log and distributing to all departments.
Work with Director of Catering and Executive Chef to create custom menus and proposals for clients in order to up sell
Manage all accounts in Delphi
Conduct site inspections for prospective clients and events
Handle walk-in inquiries
Have visible presence in the community, attend industry networking events to prospect for business
Follow up with clients and send thank you notes
Supervise banquet staff during event set up to make sure BEO is being followed. Responsible for greeting and welcoming clients prior to turning over to banquets.
Attend all assigned meetings such as BEO, Driskill leadership and OTT
Review banquet checks and billing for all events
Participate in Saturday office coverage as assigned
Contract outside vendors for clients (floral, music etc)
Create resume reports to distribute to all departments for all conference services groups and catering groups as needed.
Enforce sales contract for assigned groups. Make sure groups achieve contracted rooms and catering attrition.
Detail all assigned conference services groups booked by the sales department. This will include obtaining rooming lists, special check-in needs, amenities, valet, vendors and exhibitors
Work with audio visual department to oversee all clients audio visual needs
Manage “rooms only” groups as assigned.
Special projects per the Director of Catering.
Job Requirements
Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Computer literacy and the ability to utilize Word, Excel and department specific programs
Knowledge of Delphi and/or Springer-Miller systems
Must be able to work weekends and flexible hours
Minimum of four years hotel catering/conference services experience
Must exhibit all of the attributes of a Driskill leader as outlined in our Leadership Attributes, Mission Statement and other hotel documents.
Must be able to lead staff and handle guest relations. Will be responsible for maximizing hotel revenues while providing high levels of customer service.
