BASIC FUNCTIONS:
To support the guestroom operations of the Housekeeping department to ensure that services and cleanliness standards are commensurate with guests expectations and established performance standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrate a guest-driven style of leadership with a sense of urgency in interactions, execution and recovery.
Ensure the cleanliness, maintenance and appearance of all guestrooms and common areas are in accordance with established standards.
Dispose and collect/distribute the room attendants trash and dirty linen every hour or as called.
Assist in deep clean of the rooms for VIP arrivals.
Complete laundry pick-ups and deliveries and any other guest requests. Complete guestroom deliveries within 15 minutes from time of request.
Clean and maintain all light fixtures. Clean and polish all metal, wood, plastic, etc. Vacuum and spot clean carpet. Utilize carpet-cleaning extraction as needed or scheduled. Clean and maintain all woodwork, walls, baseboards, ceilings, windows, frames, etc. Clean and maintain mirrors, sinks, counters, commodes, and partitions, floors swept and mopped. Ensure ample supplies in section lockers. Maintain all ash urns are cleaned and stamped. Empty and clean trash containers, dispose of trash as necessary.
Sweep all entrances and sidewalks, free of debris, cigarette butts, trash, gum, drippings, stains, etc. Floor mats to be maintained.
Assist and complete special projects as assigned. Move furniture as directed in a safe manner and protective manner.
Participate as an active role model to promote a positive working environment. Maintain a safe and clean departmental working environment.
Have knowledge of hotel activities and services available for the guest.
Utilize controls and systems established to ensure the financial goals of the departments are met or surpassed.
Work closely with the Engineering department to help ensure the working order of all guestroom area items and the appearance and upkeep of all finishes of the hotel. Report necessary repairs using the established work order program.
Participate as an active role model in annual department goals. Use effective and professional communication to one-another for effective execution in planning and operations. Complete assignments on time, accurately and to specifications as required or requested.
Participate in daily pre-shift meetings to ensure a consistent and effective flow of information within the department. Attend departmental and other meetings as requested for assigned.
Participate in safety training about proper usage and correct labeling of chemicals and proper body motions. Responsible for the safety and proper use of floor master keys, radios, pagers vacuums, machines and carts and any hotel property owned equipment/tools.
Maintain all storage lockers and are to be used for storage of equipment and supplies.
Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Estancia La Jolla Hotel & Spa from time to time is essential to the successful performance in this position.
Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, associates may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
Job Requirements
Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Able to read, speak the English language fluently to interact with guests and associate. Verbal communication and writing skills.
Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.
Ability to handle multiple priorities at the same time.
Ability to follow directions/instructions correctly
Must enjoy working with people and having a good service attitude.
