OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
To supervise, direct, assist, and assure the completion of housekeeping tasks assigned to room attendants and housepersons in guest rooms and corridors; to maintain hotel’s high standards of cleanliness.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
INSPECTS THE CLEANING AND SERVICING OF GUESTROOMS.
CHECK ALL VACANT AND READY ROOMS THAT WERE CLEANED THE PREVIOUS DAY
CORRESPOND WITH THE FRONT DESK PERSONNEL FOR PRIORITY OF ROOMS NEEDED AS WELL AS UPDATE OF VIP ROOMS
ASSIGNS SPECIAL PROJECTS AS DIRECTED BY THE EXECUTIVE MANAGER
MAKING WORK ORDERS FOR MAINTENANCE ON A REGULAR BASIS, & REPORTING ALL WORK TICKETS TO ENG. FOR REPAIRS & ALSO INCLUDE ROOMS THAT NEED PAINTING
INSURE THAT ALL ROOM ATTENDANTS HAVE APPROPRIATE SUPPLIES AND LINEN.
ASSISTS IN THE CLEANING OF GUEST ROOMS WHEN NECESSARY
INSPECTS EVERY ROOM & SENDS ROOM ATTENDANT BACK TO MAKE ANY CORRECTIONS
MAKING SURE HOUSEMEN MAINTAIN THE CORRIDORS, BALCONIES, AND CLOSETS
ROOM INSPECTIONS ON MONTHLY BASIS ON ROOM ATTENDANTS
REPORTS ALL ROOMS THAT CARPET NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OR SHAMPOOED
REPORTS ANY FURNITURE THAT IS DAMAGED OR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
VISUALLY INSPECT VIP ROOMS, GUEST ROOMS, AND CORRIDORS FOR CLEANLINESS AND APPEARANCE. UPON INSPECTION OF VIP ROOMS, MAKE CERTAIN ALL VIP SUPPLIES ARE IN PLACE.
TAKE REQUESTED INVENTORIES OF FURNITURE, FIXTURES, EQUIPMENT & SUPPLIES, ETC.^ INSURE THAT BOTH CARTS AND LINEN/SUPPLY CLOSETS ARE KEPT CLEAN, NEAT, AND STOCKED ACCORDING TO DEPARTMENTAL GUIDELINES.
REPORT ALL MAINTENANCE DEFICIENCIES IN GUEST ROOMS AND CORRIDORS VIA WORK TICKETS. TELEPHONE DEFICIENCIES CONSIDERED EMERGENCIES (I.E. OVERFLOWING TOILETS OR BROKEN PIPES IN BATHROOMS, LIGHTS OUT IN BATHROOMS, CLOSETS OR CORRIDORS, BROKEN MIRRORS OR WINDOW) TO MAINTENANCE DEPARTMENT.
EXPEDITE SPECIAL GUEST REQUESTS, SUCH AS EXTRA TOWELS, BLANKETS OR PILLOWS.
TRAIN AND MONITOR PERFORMANCE OF ROOM ATTENDANTS AND HOUSEPERSONS. PROVIDE ORGANIZATION, INSTRUCTION, GUIDANCE, COMMUNICATION, COUNSELING AS WELL AS EXERCISE GOOD JUDGEMENT, WHILE REINFORCING HOTEL’S HIGH STANDARDS OF QUALITY. INSURE ALL JOBS ARE COMPLETED WITHIN THE SHIFT.
RESPOND TO GUEST QUESTIONS. PROVIDE GUEST ASSISTANCE, DIRECTIONS, AND INFORMATION AS REQUESTED.
OTHER:
REGULAR ATTENDANCE IN CONFORMANCE WITH THE STANDARDS, WHICH MAY ESTABLISHED BY HOTEL FROM TIME TO TIME, IS ESSENTIAL TO THE SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE OF THIS POSITION. EMPLOYEES WITH IRREGULAR ATTENDANCE WILL SUBJECT TO DISCIPLINARY ACTION, UP TO AND INCLUDING TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT.
DUE TO THE CYCLICAL NATURE OF THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY, EMPLOYEES MAY BE REQUIRED TO WORK VARYING SCHEDULES TO REFLECT THE BUSINESS NEEDS OF THE HOTEL.
