OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Rooms Division Manager oversees and coordinates the activities of Assistant Rooms Managers and the functioning of the Front Office and Housekeeping departments. Primary Duties are as Follows:
1) Serves as Manager on Duty (MOD) as the schedule indicates and/or Housekeeping Manager
2) Ensures exceptional People, Product, and Process are in place for optimum financial success, cleanliness, and superior customer service
3) Develop, Train, Coach Assistant Rooms Managers in all disciplines related to the Rooms Division to ensure strategic alignment and consistency
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for scheduling the front office and housekeeping staffs according to business forecast, payroll budget guidelines and productivity requirements.
Oversees performance reviews, training and development of all front office and Housekeeping staff to achieve hotel service quality standards.
Oversees and participates in all aspects of the Front Office and Housekeeping operations, i.e. Guest Reception coverage as needed, Public Space cleanliness, and room inspections
Responsible for maintaining Housekeeping supply and retail shop inventories on as needed basis or at minimum monthly par levels-oversees ordering of all supplies for both Departments in conjunction with monthly budget/forecast numbers
Motivates front office and housekeeping team members and establishes a productive working environment at the hotel.
Active member of the Revenue Optimization team-participating in strategic initiatives, communicating down the strategies of our Sales culture in a positive and effective manner
Analyzes reports and communicates information to staff and appropriate departments
Knowledgeable of hotel property, amenities and area attractions.
Maintains correct procedures for hotel accounting, credit control and handling of financial transactions, and Supply Inventory
Maintains procedures for security of monies, guest security and emergency procedures.
Strives to increase the level of guest satisfaction through associate development and quality image.
Responds quickly to guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner, taking the appropriate action to resolve matters. Follow up to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
Must communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Work closely with Catering and Sales to assure groups and special functions are handled smoothly from a service and upkeep standard
Work closely with Director of Engineering to ensure processes are in place for immaculate and fully functioning guest rooms and public spaces
Coordinate training efforts and continually assess the progress of all Front Office and Housekeeping staff in technical, practical, and service excellence skills.
Must be able to prioritize and delegate work as needed.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
Comply at all times with The Driskill standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Establish and maintain attentive, friendly, courteous and efficient hospitality with Front Office and Housekeeping departments
Motivate, coach, counsel and assist in disciplining of all reporting staff
Assist Hotel Manager in developing and creating Hotel wide strategies for constant improvement in the areas o Service Excellence, Superior Profitability, and Unrivaled Culture
Develop associate morale and ensure proper on-boarding and training of all Rooms Division staff.
Review all Rooms staff worked hours for payroll compilation and submit to Accounting on a timely basis.
Maintain a professional working relationship and promote open lines of communication with managers, associates and other departments.
Work closely with Accounting on follow-up items, i.e., returned checks, rejected credit cards, associate discrepancies, etc. in addition to monthly P&L review and forecasting
Operate all aspects of the Front Office computer system, including any maintenance requirements, report generation and simple programming.
Monitor proper operation of the PBX console along with thorough Guest Follow Up procedures
Ensure implementation of all Driskill policies and house rules. Understand hospitality terms.
Ensure correct and accurate cash handling at the Guest Reception
Host Monthly Departmental Meetings for both areas
Ensure Pre Shift Meeting are happening at all shift change-overs in accordance with Hotel expectations
Perform any other duties as requested by Hotel Manager
Ensure delivery of all messages, packages and mail in a timely and professional manner.
Be aware of all rates, packages and promotions currently under way.
Follow and enforce all Driskill hotel credit policies.
Ensure that associates are at all times, attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers and other associates.
Monitor all VIPs, special guests and their requests-run Daily Operations Meeting in absence of Hotel Manager
Maintain required pars of all supplies.
Maintain and review Go Concierge on a daily basis ensuring all aspects are being utilized to their full capacity
Ensure adequate management coverage at all times, especially on sold out nights.
Perform, as necessary, all duties of all areas of the Room Division
Job Requirements
Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Occasionally lifting or pushing up to 50 lbs.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Requires luxury hotel experience in the Rooms Division
2. Must be flexible to work weekends and provide coverage in a 24/7 operating environment.
3. Must be computer literate, including excel and word and systems typically found in a hotel environment.
4. Must lead staff and handle guest relations.
5. Must convey information and ideas clearly.
6. Must be a team leader and be able to handle multiple tasks at one time.
7. Must be able to handle cash and credit transactions
8. Strong administrative and communication skills required.
9. Must be able to evaluate and choose alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
10. Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
11. Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
12. Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
13. Must utilize information from all sources available and know how to use this information to best resolve a problem or need.
14. Must understand why policies are written and be able to explain/justify to subordinates.
15. Must be effective in listening to and understanding the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
16. Must possess English language skills and basic Spanish sufficient to fully comprehend job assignments, be able to read and understand manufacturer’s instructions where related, and adhere to safety warnings.
17. Must possess knowledge of safe work practices. Must train subordinates in proper safe work practices.
