  • MISSION:
  • The VP/Director of Sales and Marketing will provide sales and marketing leadership and expertise, strategic planning, business plan execution, analysis, evaluation resources and support to meet the financial goals of Sunriver.
  • Responsible for revenue generation in all areas of Sunriver Resort with particular attention to Group and transient room sales.
  • Additionally, to coach, advise and implement procedures/programs/initiatives that support revenue goals.
  • DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and provide strategic direction, support and leadership for all aspects of Sunriver’s sales and marketing effort, to include Group Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management (Optimization) and the Sales Center.
  • Coach and lead, on a daily basis, the Director of Sales, the Director of Marketing and Leisure Sales, the Director of Revenue Management and the Sales Center Manager.
  • Provide direction to the Director of Sales and Sunriver sales team in order to enhance group booking pace, backlog, rate and pattern management and continue to identify opportunities to maximize group sales contribution and performance.
  • Assess hotels’ defined competitive market(s) and defined competitive sets and their relevance to Sunriver based on current/future market conditions and market/industry changes and fluctuations, as well as their impact on the current DH&R Northwest portfolio of properties.
  • Evaluate group sales deployment against markets, territories and customer segments, and current Northwest portfolio deployment in order to optimize penetration and ensure that deployment and measurable, strategic sales plans are in place.
  • Detailed reporting to define conversion, ACD reports, denials, inventory management and classifications, availability/yield management practices, DGS listing and management, call volumes and shopping report analysis will be required.
  • Ensure that all data capture procedures and maintenance of individual and group guest history databases are effectively monitored for capture, quality and targeted usage.
  • Executive responsibility for managing the “brand” of Sunriver Resort and its affiliates.
  • Executive responsibility for the creative “image”, web presence, and related promotional tools necessary for a dynamic and diverse resort.
  • Responsible for the on-going marketing and presence of all “on line” marketing and sales channels.
  • Responsibility for creating and managing promotions, events, advertising campaigns, public relations plans and familiarization tours designed to generate business.
  • Responsible for development of marketing partnerships and events at the resort.
  • Responsible for the on-going management of supporting agencies, such as advertisement, public relations, golf affiliates, representation firms and others in the direct support of Sunriver/DH&R.
  • Develop all relevant financial performance budgets including rooms, food and beverage, golf, spa and conference center revenue and occupancy budgets and work closely with the Managing Director of Operations of the Northwest.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing plan with targeted strategies and tactics to drive revenue and property performance in all areas which will include a critical path, accountability, and ROI and implement the business plan templates as defined by DH&R.
  • Write the annual resort marketing plan and quarterly partner reports pertinent to Sales & Marketing.
  • Outlines to include strategies and tactics to meet both revenue and expense budgets and the development of new business.
  • Responsible for analysis and monthly reporting that will detail sales and marketing efforts, financial performance and future metrics (backlog, pace comparison and other DH&R Marketing (MK) reports).
  • Financial responsibility to meet expense budget goals and/or percent of gross revenue targets.
  • Assist other SRLP businesses when needed, to include but not be limited to: Sunriver Realty, Sunriver Water LLC, Sunriver Environmental, LLC, Development and the Sunriver Airport.
  • Responsible for crisis public relations planning during emergency situations.
  • Participate on the Resort Executive and Leadership committees.
  • Represent Sunriver, the DH&R Northwest collection and/or DH&R at appropriate client and customer events, exhibitions, trade shows, professional meetings as necessary, specific community events, tourism agencies and political venues when in the resort’s best interest.
  • Participate in DH&R Sales & Marketing activities, which foster team support, portfolio synergy and overall input for constant improvement/innovation.
  • Maintain an active role in important strategic, professional industry organizations as necessary.
  • Ensure implementation and support of all corporate sales and marketing initiates and require necessary metric/measurement procedures to assess results.
  • Support the growing Northwest collection sales and marketing cooperative and provide ongoing direction and leadership for the sales, marketing and promotional opportunities and synergies for the cooperative.
  • EXPERIENCE NEEDED
  • Ability to position and brand a luxury Resort product within a larger Resort product (Caldera Springs/Osprey Point).
  • Extensive experience in growing market share within the Leisure sector that includes a large Homes and Condos component.
  • Extensive experience with Electronic Media Channels.
  • Experience in growing ancillary revenues at a resort with multiple revenue streams: Marina, Recreation, Airport, Equestrian, Golf, Spa, Children Activity Center.
  • Strong analytical ability to monitor trends, historical data, budgets and all financial aspects of a Sales & Marketing department.

 Job Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
  • SKILLS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of three years senior level sales and marketing experience at a full-service premium property required
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills necessary
  • Experience with hotel reservations and advertising preferred
  • Prior sales and marketing experience with direct exposure to multiple outlets: golf, spa, ski
  • Multiple software knowledge preferred (Delphi, Springer Miller)
  • Flexible hours and days.
  • Travel as required
  • Function at an optimum level under a high-stress, deadline-oriented environment
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
