Those who frequent Stowe treasure its ability to welcome the world, while still remaining the quintessential small New England town and the creation of Stowe Mountain Lodge will reaffirm the mountain’s reputation as a world-class resort.
The 139-room luxury lodge is establishing a new alpine aesthetic for Stowe; one that celebrates rustic Vermont-Alpine architecture, the artisan traditions of New England and the tranquility of the area.
The lodge will feature stunning, panoramic mountain views, an ambiance of rustic elegance, and truly intimate and gracious service unmatched by any other resort in New England.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The HVAC Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance and repairs of all hotel heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems, as well as all hot and cold water systems to include, but not limited to boilers, cooling tower, and associated pumps and motors.
She/he performs Preventive Maintenance as assigned or required while keeping system downtime to a minimum.
Also, provides assistance and training to other Engineers as needed or assigned. In addition, provides sincere service through actions that display self-confidence, grace and courtesy to guests and colleagues.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Reacts to guest needs, and department requests to maintain the entire facility by performing various HVAC tasks related to a variety of trades.
2. Responds to guest challenges or requests throughout the hotel to make necessary repairs and / or accommodate the guest.
3. Works with all other departments to make necessary repairs to ensure a safe and secure resort.
4. Maintains all inspection and log sheets to ensure proper HVAC preventive maintenance and operations are documented.
5. Visually inspects, diagnoses problems, and makes necessary repairs on HVAC equipment to reduce downtime to the facility.
6. Ensures guest satisfaction by maintaining a clean, safe facility while performing maintenance work.
7. Properly cares for equipment and uses it properly to assist with cost control.
8. Interacts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information.
9. Is knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and Resort policies.
10. Communicates all pertinent information to the Engineering Manager and Supervisors.
11. Upholds all safety standards of Stowe Mountain Lodge and Destination Hotels and Resorts.
12. Is able to communicate verbally and in writing in English.
13. Is able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 50 lbs.
14. Is able to stand/walk up to 6-8 hours per day.
15. Is a team player and interacts with all guests and fellow associates in a positive and friendly manner.
Job Requirements
Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, & WORK EXPERIENCE:
Must be EPA certified with at least Type II or better license.
Must have extensive experience with HVAC mechanical systems.
Possess good electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Able to read blueprints, wiring schematics and technical manuals.
Ability to read and write the English language fluently.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the public and other associates.
Strong computer skills including Word, Excel and Energy Management Systems.
Experience in cost projections, scheduling, and design and inventory control.
Experience in equipment safety procedures and equipment lock-out / tag-out procedures.
Interpersonal skills necessary to provide the highest level of guest satisfaction.

Built in the new “Vermont-Alpine” style, Stowe Mountain Lodge will offer a truly luxurious setting, while still paying respect to the Vermont traditions of utilizing local artisan products and embracing the tranquility of nature.
The Design
This 139-room luxury lodge has established a new alpine aesthetic for Stowe – one that celebrates rustic Vermont-Alpine architecture, the artisan traditions of New England and the tranquility of the area. The lodge features stunning, panoramic mountain views, an ambiance of rustic elegance, and truly intimate and gracious service unmatched by any other resort in New England.
Guests enter Stowe Mountain Lodge through a picturesque façade of woven timber and expansive glass. Walls of natural stone are juxtaposed with cut-timber and vertical logs. Dramatic rooflines add elegance to the alpine angles.
The lobby of the lodge features window-wall vistas with extraordinary view corridors to the surrounding mountain peaks. To the northwest, Mt. Mansfield and Smugglers Notch. To the northeast, Spruce Peak. A wood-burning fireplace with luxurious leather couches adds to the warmth of the welcome.
With large windows and oversized balconies, each guestroom at the lodge takes full advantage of the remarkable mountain landscape as well, and is furnished with a sense of New England warmth and tradition.
The Location
Stowe Mountain Lodge is truly a resort for all four seasons. Located in the heart of the new Spruce Peak at Stowe alpine village, and adjacent to the new Over Easy Transfer Gondola connecting Spruce Peak to Mt. Mansfield, guests enjoy slopeside access to the most legendary ski resort in the east, close proximity to the most challenging mountain hiking and biking trails in the area, pristine streams, ponds, and lakes to fly fish for trout, bass, and pike, and an ideal setting in the midst of the world's most beautiful fall foliage.

Stowe Mountain Club Golf Course
The lodge features an 18-hole, par 72 championship mountain course designed by the legendary Bob Cupp. This 6,400 yard course has a classic configuration, with two par fives and two par threes on each nine. Scenery includes expansive mountain vistas, with cascading streams shaded by maple and birch trees.
The golf course was built using environmentally-sound practices and is the first in Vermont to receive Audubon International's Signature Sanctuary Certification.
