Scope of this Position

• THE PROPERTY:
• A landmark in Universal City since 1969, the Sheraton Universal Hotel is located on the back lot of Universal Studios and offers 452 beautifully appointed guest rooms and suites.
• Complimentary tram rides are offered from the hotel to Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Citywalk with all its "Hollywood" fun and dining options.
• The Sheraton Universal Hotel is conveniently located just minutes from Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, Beverly Hills and downtown Los Angeles.
• This spacious hotel offers views of Universal Studio's amusement park and is currently undergoing a significant transition encompassing the hotel concept, service culture and a multimillion dollar renovation including complete room, lobby, meeting space, restaurant and lounge venues.

• Reports to: Director of Transient Sales
• ========================
• PURPOSE:
• Assist in the establishment, maintenance and growth of national corporate volume & consortia accounts. Act as the central field sales contact to corporate travel planners for RFP processing, client visits, tradeshows, etc.
• RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Use corporate preferred account production report to monitor corporate account production across the portfolio, for pursuit of potential national volume accounts
• Maintain and grow existing preferred volume accounts through client relationships and multi-property expansion
• Represent the property to corporate travel managers. Host client events and attend bid meetings as necessary
• RFP solicitation:
• Recognize potential for property during RFP process
• Complete RFP solicitations, submit and follow up
• Act as liaison between the property & GSO. Assist in keeping GSO updated on preferred & target transient accounts, sales trips, tradeshows, promotions, etc
• As part of the Affinity process, promote property awareness via customer interaction/events, RFP solicitation, agency presentations, site inspections, FAM trips, tradeshows, etc.
• Take part in collaboration on travel, which can benefit Sheraton Universal as well as other applicable properties in the portfolio:
• Tradeshows/blitzes/agency visits, etc.
• Assist in the pursuit and maintenance of national account corporate partnerships such as American Express, Carlson Wagonlit, etc.
• Purse consortia marketing opportunities, call center/agency presentations, client events, etc.
• SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
• In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the hotel:
• >> Professionally represent the hotel at all industry/community functions.
• >> Participate as team player with all departments.
• >> Assist with reports and/or competition data collection.
• >> Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints.
• >> Sales ability and skill in both oral and written form.
• >> Ability to identify and develop accounts with individual guest room needs.
• >> Ability to establish and master goals.
• >> Must possess basic computational ability.
• >> Must possess computer skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel and Delphi.
