- THE WESTIN MINNEAPOLIS: Transformed from Minneapolis’ historic Farmers & Mechanics Bank building, The Westin Minneapolis hotel will be your home to renewal in the Twin Cities.
- Originally built in 1941, the landmark features the original 34-foot vaulted bank lobby, marble staircase and wood carved emblems signifying the leading industries of the World War II era.
- We invite you to enjoy a historic journey and uniquely inspired hospitality experience.
- At the pulse of cosmopolitan Minneapolis, the hotel is conveniently connected to the skyway system, and is also a short walk from the Minneapolis Convention Center, and Metrodome.
- The hotel’s 214 rooms boast an intriguing combination of sophistication and rejuvenation. Our vault-secured meeting room offers a true “no interruption” function or enjoy breathtaking views in our bankers boardroom with floor to ceiling windows and we offer 7,891 square feet of flexible meeting space designed with the latest in A/V technology.
- At “Bank” restaurant diners seated at the counter will be able to watch the Chefs prepare menu items from their stations or for a truly interactive experience choose the Hida Konro grill tableside.
- The bar and lounge will be the focal point of the 34-foot vaulted lobby featuring an extensive wine display. Specialty drinks will also be featured, with guests offered the personal experience of shaking their own martini.
- Four private dining rooms, formerly bank offices, are also available for a business or social gathering.

- JOB DESCRIPTION
- This is a part-time day position.
- Meet and greet guests as they arrive, offer choice of seating, then escort them to their table and present menu.
- Read, maintain and make daily entries in the log book to coordinate communication between shifts and management.
- Maintain proper set-up of dining room.
- Receive records and make any necessary arrangements for reservations and special functions in the restaurant.
- Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
- Perform any other job related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements |
|
- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
- REQUIRED SKILLS
- Must have the ability to communicate in English.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Can communicate well with guests.
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Ability to comprehend guest requests, memos, reservations, promotional materials, event orders and similar written materials.
- Ability to remember, recite and promote the variety of menu items.
- Ability to move throughout a crowded room to seat guests.
- Ability to effectively deal with customer complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner.
- This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the customer and providing positive and proactive solutions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers and patrons.
