- BASIC FUNCTIONS:
- The Sales Manager is responsible for generating group business from a national market and local markets as assigned for four Colorado properties.
- Responsible to maximization sales through development of potential markets and sound administration of assigned responsibilities through sensible delegation and personal attention to detail.
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- 1. Make personal visits, when necessary to target areas and call on companies and associations located in a specific market or area.
- 2. Book meetings, conferences and social guests from assigned areas.
- 3. Dedicate majority of time to direct sales - via phone or in person
- 4. Rework and maintain old account files and solicit new accounts.
- 5. Respond to all correspondence from assigned areas and trace dates for reworking and follow up.
- 6. Conduct site inspections.
- 7. Attend trade shows pertinent to assigned areas and attend meetings, seminars and functions through membership in association.
- 8. Perform general office duties and assist other personnel, as required.
- 9. Maintain a constant contact with Corporate and Association meeting planners; maintain membership and contacts in hotel industry associations.
- 10. Maintain a working relationship with departments interacting with convention groups.
- 11. Develop new accounts by mapping current accounts and asking for referrals ".
- 12. Stay abreast of industry trends and make recommendations of changes which would affect operations.
- 13. Maintain accurate forecast and recap information.
- 14. Maintain constant contact and excellent relationships with Rep Firms and third party contacts.
- 15. Achieve group room night goal.
- 16. Exemplify a positive can do attitude and lead by example. Foster and promote a cooperative working climate maximizing employee morale.
- 17. Follow Resort grooming standards maintaining a professional image in dress and mannerism as well as wearing pagers and name tags at all times.
- 18. Meet or exceed assigned booking goals
- MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
- 1. Perform other related duties as requested by the Director of Group Sales.
- 2. Practice safety standards and report unsafe conditions to the Director of Group Sales.

Job Requirements |
 |
- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
- QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING & WORK EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum (2) two years of college, degree desirable.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Prefer experience in hotel sales or related industry.
- Prefer Destination sales knowledge of the Colorado Mountains
- Aggressive, outgoing and self motivating individual with pleasant personality.
