Responsibilities for this Position

• Being one of the few true ski-in, ski-out properties in Vail, the Vail Cascade Resort & Spa is nestled mountainside along Gore Creek and considered one of the finest ski resorts in the nation.
• Property amenities include 50,000 square feet of meeting area and the award winning Aria Club and Spa, the largest in Vail.
• Chap’s Grill & Chophouse is located within the resort and is one of Colorado’s best bets for savory steaks, game and seafood specials.
• Featuring the finest regional game, traditional grilled foods and incredible seafood, Chap's serves up elegance, tradition and succulent menu selections.
• Unparalleled views can be found from the comfortable and inviting cocktail and dining areas.
• Our Food and Beverage staff is second to none, and has been strengthened by nationally renowned Executive Chef, Richard Beichner.

• We are currently searching for Cooks to join our strong team.
• The person in this position is responsible for preparation, execution, and presentation of fine dining items.
• He/She needs to be able to follow the standardized recipes and ensure that food quality, portioning and presentation reflect Cascade Hotel philosophy for fresh, healthful and innovative cuisine.
• Looking for 2 years experience or culinary school educated must be able to work in high volume environment and be able to stay cool under pressure.

Job Requirements

• Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
• EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• 1. Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Degree from and accredited culinary school preferred.
• 2. Significant amount of cooking experience in specified area (or other related operation) preferred.
• 3. High-end and/or high volume experience is a plus.
• 4. Experience in the food and wine industry, specifically special events.
• 5. Ability to communicate in English, both oral and written. 2nd language preferred.
• SKILLS:
• 1. Good food preparation skills and able to follow recipes and instructions. Team player with a can-do attitude.
• 2. Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• 3. Knowledge of and ability to properly use various kitchen equipment.
• 4. Ability to lift and carry 40 lbs.

• Must live in the local area or within commuting distance.
