Banquet Line Cook (Full-Time)

Responsibilities for this Position |
 |
- GENERAL PURPOSE:
- The line cook Role will be expected to provide a support system for the Banquet/Restaurant Chef and Sous Chef.
- This involves recipe and menu development, as needed, execution of a la carte dining and duties relating to staffing of kitchen and dining room.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee sanitation of kitchens during and at the end of shifts
- Control quality and consistency of all food
- Control waste of food product and labor
- OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with Banquet/Restaurant Chef to develop and cost menu items and specials, including station prep sheets
- Must have the ability to develop staff training manuals and memos
- Must have the ability to portion, prepare and cook menu items in accordance to the menus put in place and within the specifications of the Banquet/Restaurant Chef and standardized recipes
- Apply extensive food knowledge and specialized cooking skills that arte required for tasks
- Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job.

Job Requirements |

- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
- KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- Previous cooking experience
- SKILLS:
- Strong technical skills in all areas of culinary arts
- Possess the ability to clearly give and follow instructions
- Language and Writing Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operations and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence as well as recipes and menus
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages and volume in relationship to recipe and menu costing and food portions

- Ability to apply common sense and an understanding to carry out instructions written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables and standardized situations
- EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
- High school degree
- WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift heavy objects when applicable
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Technical Requirements:
- Must live in the local area or within commuting distance.
