Responsibilities for this Position |
 |
- ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that the highest quality product is provided to the guests throughout the property in a prompt and courteous manner.
- Responsible for delivering and serving guests in a timely manner, while implementing proper service standards.
- Responsible for being knowledgeable in all menu items, pricing and other services provided by the property in relation to Room Service.
- Accountable for set-up, service, refreshing and break down of all hospitalities.
- Ensure each outgoing order complies with guest’s requests before delivering to his or her room.
- Exercise proper telephone etiquette with guests, in compliance with telephone guidelines.
- Promptly retrieve all guests’ trays and carts upon the guests’ request. Ensuring the resort is clear of these items at all times.
- Practice all sanitation and safety guidelines provided by both the Health Department and property.
- Support training programs including by not limited to: OSHA, Safety, Educational and Employee Enhancement programs to assure the continual upgrading of department personnel.
- Perform exceptional communication skills throughout all functions of the job, i.e. guests, department managers and fellow employees. Perform any and all duties assigned by the manager.
- SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
- In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the resort.
- Perform general cleaning tasks using standard Resort cleaning products as assigned by supervisor to adhere to health standards.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY
- The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Ability to treat guests with respect and professionalism. Individuals must posses and demonstrate the ability to interact with all guests, internal and external, effectively with tact and diplomacy in line with the property’s service standards.
- Must have knowledge of all resort, restaurants, outlets and amenities to intelligently assist guests with questions.
- Ability to pick up trays from all guest suites sometimes without the use of an elevator.
- Must have knowledge of appropriate table settings and serviceware settings on table beaus.
- Ability to read, speak, write and understand the English language to perform the essential functions.
- Ability to grasp, lift and carry or otherwise transport up to 50 lbs.
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol.

- Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
- QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
- EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- EXPERIENCE: Prior guest service experience preferred.
- LICENSES OR CERTIFICATES: Food handler’s card.
- APPEARANCE: Highly professional appearance, ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance. Specific standards are available.
