 Responsibilities for this Position

  • WHO WE ARE:
  • Destination Resorts Hawaii, Inc. manages a collection of condominiums located in six villages with breathtaking mountain and ocean views, unique landscaping, full concierge and front desk service all within the exclusive Wailea and Makena resort communities.
  • DRH has successfully managed condominium rental contracts since 1976.
  • In addition, DRH not only manages non-rental service agreements for individual home-owners but also serves as the managing agent for the Association of Homeowners at Wailea Grand Champions Villas, Makena Surf and Wailea Beach Villas.
  • Destination Resorts Hawaii, Inc. is owned by Destination Hotels & Resorts based in Englewood, Colorado.

  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Respond to guest needs, and department request to maintain the entire facility by performing various task related to a variety of trades to ensure an attractive and well-maintained property.
  • Respond to guest challenges or requests throughout the property to make necessary repairs and / or accommodate the guest.
  • Work with all other departments to make required repairs to ensure a safe, and secure property.
  • Maintain all inspection and log sheets to ensure proper preventive maintenance of operation of physical structure of the resort.
  • Visually inspect, diagnose problems, take measurements, and make necessary repairs on equipment and facility as instructed by supervisor.
  • SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
  • In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the resort.
  • Detailed record keeping in English is required for log and inspection sheets.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job function.
  • Report major repairs and items that cannot be repaired to Supervisors for further action.
  • Due to the nature of our business the individual may be required to do other duties and special projects as assigned by the Supervisors such as making Props or cleaning the work shop.

 Job Requirements

  • Must be a citizen of this country or possess a valid work permit.
  • SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & ABILITY:
  • The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
  • Individuals must posses and demonstrate the ability to interact with all guests, internal and external, effectively with tact and diplomacy in line with property's service standards.
  • Knowledge of all maintenance trades.
  • Skills in the use of related tools, including hand, and power tools.
  • Basic English language and mathematical skills in order to communicate with co-workers.
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, and kneeling.
  • Ability to push, and pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs. and grasp lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs, and ladders working at heights up to 30 feet, for extended periods of time often times overhead.
  • Ability to move throughout the property for the duration of the shift.
  • QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
  • EDUCATION: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or any other training or experience that provides the required knowledge. High school diploma preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE: Experience in all maintenance trades
  • APPEARANCE: Highly professional appearance, ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (specific standards available)

  • Must live in the local area or within commuting distance.
