Responsibilities for this Position |
 |
- GENERAL PURPOSE:
- The Equipment Operator’s position is essential in performing daily duties associated with the care and maintenance of an 18 hole championship golf course.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Equipment Operation
- Any and all mowing duties, to include: line trimming, flymowing, mowing of greens, tees, fairways, etc.
- Tractor operation, to include: tractor and dump trailer, front end loader and backhoe
- Operation of utility vehicles and trucksters
- Trap raking duties, to include: sand traps, waste areas and dunes
- Sprayer operation, to include: backpack sprayer, 25 gallon sprayer, boom sprayer
- Blower operation, to include: backpack blower, walk and pull behind blowers
- Trimming and cutting equipment, to include: pruners, hedge trimmers and chainsaws
- Irrigation installation and repairs
- Drainage installation and repairs
- Debris and trash removal
- Fertilizer and soil amendment application
- General housekeeping of facilities
- Other related duties as requested by supervisor
- OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain an acceptable grooming and uniform appearance
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Consistently acting as a role model for all Wild Dunes associates
- Report all safety hazards and concerns to immediate supervisor
- Maintain safe operation of all equipment
- Adhere to strict department and resort attendance policies
- Attend all required staff/safety meetings
- Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job.

- JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- To perform this job, an individual must have the aptitude and ability to execute the required skills necessary to deliver a high level of quality in each phase of daily maintenance of the golf course operation.
- KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- Experience in golf course maintenance/general landscaping preferred, but not required.
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent listening skills required
- Good interpersonal skills required
- Good communication skills required
- ABILITIES:
- The ability to work well as a team, as well as individually at times
- The ability to read, speak, write and understand English
- Must be adaptable and flexible to change
- The ability to work a flexible schedule, and work weekends and holidays
- The ability to work under varying and extreme weather conditions
- The ability to make quick decisions and possess good judgement
- Must have a mechanical aptitude for equipment operation
- The ability to understand and follow instructions
- The ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
- The ability to work scheduled and unexpected overtime
- EDUCATION/FORMAL TRAINING:
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
Technical Requirements:
- Must live in the local area or within commuting distance.
